 Conflict Sensitive Journalism Training Program Expands to Indonesia

PECOJON expands its training program on "Conflict Sensitive Journalism in South East Asia" and includes Indonesia, following its recent training in East Timor. The first Peace and Conflict Journalism Training 1 will be conducted on November 15-18,2007 at the Jakarta Hotel in Yogyakarta. The training is run in cooperation with CERIC - Center for Research on Inter-group Relations and Conflict Resolution of the University of Indonesia. National Coordinator PECOJON Timor Leste

As reported recently PECOJON has started building up its network in East Timor. The national coordinator by choice and appointment is Fransisco “Chico” Da Silva. He is director of the Timor Leste Media Development Center in Dili. Welcome to the team!

National Secretariat Philippines

Ledrolen Manriquez, founding member of the network and Chief of Operations of NATSEC Philippines since 2005 is shifting to Intersec, taking the role and challenge of the International Chief of Operations.  
Jay Malaga takes over as chief of operations of NATSEC Philippines and is right now digging his way through lots of paper works.

2007-10-08 - Launching of the Diplomatic Post, Lomé, Togo

On October 4, 2007 Togo’s first newspaper in English language launched.
The Diplomatic Post was founded and is published by Berry K. Afanvi, who is the National Coordinator of PECOJON in Togo and PECOJON Coordinator for Western Africa.
