Beginning June 2007 the University of St La Salle, Bacolod City in cooperation with the Pax Christi Institute and PECOJON offer a unique Masteral Program especially addressing the challenges of journalists reporting conflicts. 

The program that can be accomplished in one or two years allows journalists to gain deeper knowledge and analytical skills which are not only useful for war and crisis coverage but provide useful tools to master the professions daily challenges.

Although masteral program the course follows a practice oriented approach trying to provide education for the field that does not lose it's relevance outside the class room. As lecturers and trainers Filipino and foreign professors and experienced professionals work hand in hand following a transdisciplinary strategy. Among the faculty are PECOJONs core trainers Jean Lee C. Patindol and Antonia Koop.

PECOJON Conducts Peace and Conflict Sensitive Journalism Training

Zamboanga City - The Peace and Conflict Journalism Network (PECOJON) conducted a 3-day peace and conflict sensitive journalism training 2 at La Vista Monte Resort here on March 16-19, 2007.

The training that was attended by 20 journalists coming from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao was held in a mountain resort some 24 kilometers away from downtown Zamboanga City and it was the 2nd training attended by the journalists.
