The follow up session of the Peace and Conflict Journalism Training in Mindanao will be conducted December 1-5,2006 at Malasag Eco Tourism Village, Cagayan De Oro.

The training will gather participants from Cagayan De Oro, Davao, General Santos, Koronadal, Cotabato, Iligan and Zamboanga who will be joined by journalists from Manila and the Visayas.

The follow up training focuses on analyzing the applicability of a peace journalism approach to the Mindanao conflict and further discusses topics as propaganda and the role of journalism in society and democracy. 

In cooperation with InWent, PECOJON Philippines conducts trainings on conflict reporting for journalists in war and conflict regions. The last Philippine “Peace and Conflict Journalism Training , Part 1” was held November 17-20 in Cagayan d’Oro.

For the follow up training participants can not apply but are invited by the organizers.
